NHDC stands for Neohesperidin Dihydrochalcone. Neohesperidin is isolated on an industrial scale from orange waste and converted (spray-dried) into the low-calorie sweetener and flavour enhancer NHDC. This makes NHDC a natural sweetener which is mainly used in diet meals and low-calorie meals. NHDC is approximately 1500-1800 times sweeter than sugar. An important synergetic quality of NHDC is the enhancing sweet effect if it is combined with other sweeteners. This is many times higher than if you only use NHDC or another single sweetener.
